About Us

Smart Buildings, LLC is a professional engineering and design firm specializing in the design of integrated cabling, building, communication, energy and enterprise management systems for new construction and system assessment, commissioning, and energy improvement of existing buildings. In some markets, this may be stated as a high performance, building, advanced building, connected real estate, intelligent building, or sustainable building.

 

Smart Buildings’ services address and resolve numerous “pain points” for building owners such as difficulty in dealing with complexities of technology systems, multiple technology providers, reliable financial assessments of the systems, selection of acceptable technology amenities for tenants, building performance, and the use of control systems in managing energy usage.

 

Smart Buildings offers clients the ability to address all building technology systems in an integrated fashion as opposed to contending with systems designed and installed in an isolated or “silo” approach. Factors that differentiate Smart Buildings’ services include our unique approach, proprietary documents and templates, and our high level of quality in delivering services.

 

Smart Buildings works with owners, developers, architects, engineers, MEPs, and general contractors to design and implement integrated systems utilizing our proprietary 6 Level Principles of Integration©, Systems Matrix© and an extensive database of approved products. Our designations include PE, RCDD, and LEED AP.

Our projects have won awards for Best Use of Automation and Building Connectivity Implementation as well as industry awards, including the “Harry J. Pfister” award. We are published authors of two books on the Design and Operation of Building Technology Systems as well as numerous articles.
